about

Seven Sounds was produced and recorded in Portland, ME during an especially brutal winter. All songs were written sometime in the vicinity of 2013/2014 by me--Noah Perwin--and painstakingly recorded using three kind of paltry instruments, some dependable mics, and a computer that made drum noises (but other noises too).

Seven Sounds is not a concept album, and the lyrics are sometimes difficult for me to interpret. There are songs about specific experiences and things, but they are in the minority. I always thought of these songs as a patchwork of textures, tones, and colors that convey only those things--and in turn whatever experiences those dredge up in the listener. It's not a very personal album in that sense, but it's an album that I created with an enormous amount of enjoyment, experimentation, and passion for guitar-playing.
